With the introduction of the universal individual income tax declaration system in Armenia, citizens face a new tax obligation. The process is carried out exclusively electronically through a dedicated platform provided by the State Revenue Committee (SRC).
To make this process simple and clear for you, we present the main steps and crucial nuances of filing the declaration.
Step 1. Electronic Identification and Signature
To log into the system and validate the completed declaration, you need an active electronic signature. There are two options for this:
- Mobile Identification (Mobile ID / mID). This is the most convenient option. You need to visit a service center of your mobile operator once (with your ID card), obtain a special SIM card, and activate the electronic signature.
- Identification Card (eID) and Card Reader. If you have a chip-enabled ID card and remember its PIN/PUK codes, you can connect an ID card reader to your computer and pass the verification using it.
Step 2. Accessing the "Self Portal" Platform
- Go to the SRC Single Electronic Services System for Individuals at self-portal.taxservice.am (or use the mobile application of the same name).
- Log into the system using your electronic signature (Mobile ID or eID).
- If you have never had a TIN (Taxpayer Identification Number) before, the system will automatically generate your TIN based on your personal data.
Step 3. Data Verification and Declaring Additional Income
The main advantage of the SRC system is that it is pre-populated with data already known to the state:
- Automated Data. Income received as a hired employee (salary) or through civil law contracts, from which the employer has already withheld and paid taxes, will be automatically reflected in your declaration. You simply need to verify its accuracy.
- Additional Income. You must manually add income received from non-tax agents or from abroad (e.g., income from property rental, royalties from foreign companies, or compensation for remote work).
Step 4. Submitting Social Expenses (Credits)
While filing the declaration, you have the opportunity to get a refund on a part of your paid income tax if you incurred social expenses defined by the state. These include:
- Healthcare. Expenses for medical insurance or medical services for you or your family members (spouse, parent, child).
- Education. Tuition fee reimbursement for you or your children.
In the relevant section of the system, it is necessary to attach the invoices and bases of the payments made.
Step 5. Calculation and Submitting the Declaration
After filling in all the data, click the "Calculate" button. The system will display the final outcome: whether you have an additional tax liability to pay or, conversely, the state will refund money to you (via social expenses). After double-checking the accuracy of the data, click "Sign and Send".
Important Reminder on Deadlines. The income report for each year must be submitted during the following year according to the established deadlines. For example, the income tax declaration for 2025 is submitted by November 1 of 2026. Missing deadlines or submitting incorrect data can lead to penalties.
