How to get a phyto certificate

How do I get a phyto certificate if you are going to export plants, plant products, including fruits and vegetables, flowers? First, you should know that the phyto certificate is considered a document accompanying the cargo. This document is provided by the food safety inspection authority, which is issued for products containing a high phytosanitary hazard. If this certificate is not submitted to the customs authorities of the importing country together with the required cargo, it is very likely that the cargo may not be accepted.

And how to get a phyto certificate? First you need to submit some documents with the following information:

1) the name, surname, place of residence of the exporting person, in the case of a legal entity, the full name and location
2) the name of the importing country
3) name, surname and place of residence of the receiving person, in the case of a legal entity - full name and location
4) names and quantity of exported plants, plant products and regulated objects
5) place of receipt.

This is only the first step. The food safety inspection body, within one working day after receiving the application, conducts an inspection of plants, plant products and regulated objects submitted for export and issues a phyto-certificate if they meet the requirements of the phytosanitary rules of the importing country.

Thus, a phyto-certificate for exported plants and plant products is provided only after phytosanitary inspection and free of charge. Issuance of a Phyto certificate also implies the preservation of product labelling with the name of the producer and the indication of certain indicators about the product. Appropriate packaging is also important, in the case of transportation in boxes, the use of identical boxes.
You can also get a safety or phyto certificate provided by the Food Safety Inspection Authority of the RA CE in an accelerated manner, in 20 minutes. If the batch of product requiring phyto certification has proper packaging, compliance with labelling requirements and of course is free of harmful organisms.

When exporting to EAEU countries, plants and plant products can be transported without a phyto-certificate, if the product is sent by mail or is in passengers' hand luggage.
